ROCKWALL (November 21, 2013) The Rockwall Water Polo Club will be participating in the North Texas Polar Bear League. This league is a great way to get involved in water polo for those who have never played as well as sharpening skills for those who have.
With the high school water polo season coming up in early 2014, this is a perfect opportunity to prepare for it. There will be school grade divisions of 6th grade and under, 8th grade and under and high school grade division.
“I would like to see more girls involved in water polo as our current girls have had some great success in this sport,” said Rockwall Water Polo Club president Jim Hummingbird. “We welcome kids from 8-18 who have basic swim skills to come out and have fun.”
Practices are Tuesday evenings (December 3, 10 & 17 and January 7,14 & 21) from 7 to 8:30pm with three game days scheduled where teams will play two games on each (six total). Come out and try the first practice free to see if you like it.
2013 Polar Bear League
Location: Rockwall Aquatic Center 1205 T. L. Townsend Dr. Rockwall, TX 75087
Start Date/End Date: Tuesdays on December 3/10/17 and January 7/14/21
Age Groups/Eligibility: Athletes of all age groups are welcome to participate (practices are coed). Groups will be split up based on grade in school as well as experience. 8th grade and under from 7:00 to 8:30PM with High School ages 7:00 to 8:45PM practice.
Polar Bear League Game Days & Locations (Winter League 2012-2013):
•Game Day #1: Sunday, December 15th at the Denton ISD Natatorium
•Game Day #2: Sunday, January 12th at the Southlake-Carroll ISD Natatorium
•Game Day #3, Championship Round: Sunday, January 26th at the Southlake-Carroll ISD Natatorium
North Texas Polar Bear League: Three Sunday Game Days in which Rockwall WPC will enter teams in multiple divisions based on age and experience level. Each team will play at least two games each Game Day. Teams will be entered with players from North Dallas Water Polo Club. The Polar Bear League is included in the dues. Locations are tentative (dates will not change).
Program Cost: Please bring your registration form to the first practice or preregister by turning in your registration to any board member/coach. Make checks payable to Rockwall Water Polo Club. There will be a $10.00 discount for each additional sibling.
High School Grades $95.00
8th Grade & Under $75.00
