Currently, more than 52,000 employees stand on the front lines in neighborhoods throughout the world working to ensure youth graduate from high school with a plan for their future, live healthy life styles, and develop a strong moral compass.

Misti began her service to TPA at a local chapter level 16 years ago while working in Alabama at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Limestone County. Misti joined the National TPA Board of Directors in 2005 after she received the Southeast Region Professional of the Year award, followed by the 2005 National Boys & Girls Clubs Professional of the Year award. Upon joining the National Board, she set a goal to one day serve as the President, making her only the 3rd female President in more than 60 years.

Over the span of the past 8 years Misti strategically engaged in the functions of the Association and has emceed several regional and national awards ceremonies and has chaired numerous committees. She has worked closely with BGCA leaders to establish joint partnerships and committees in mentoring and career coaching, as well as the most recent launch of the Executive Coaching program that matches seasoned professionals with professionals throughout the country to bring all Boys & Girls Clubs to the highest level of operation for kids.

With a sincere, enthusiastic passion and drive to help all professionals develop their skills and expand their support network, Misti served as the Secretary and Vice President of the TPA Board the past 4 years in preparation for her term as President. For the next 2 years she will work with a committed Board of Boys & Girls Club CEOs, BGCA and other Club leaders from across the country to move TPA to unprecedented heights. Standing on 5 Pillars of Support, TPA will continue to and expand upon building pride in the profession by providing, Networking Opportunities, Scholarships, Mentoring & Career Coaching, Awards & Recognition, and support of Training and Professional Development.

In addition to her commitment to serving as the President of TPA, she is equally dedicated to the strategic growth and impact of the Boys & Girls Club of Rockwall County as she and the local Board of Directors launched an aggressive campaign to build a new complex and serve more kids more often. Because of the local efforts and accomplishments in serving Rockwall County youth, Misti was recognized as the 2013 Southwest Region Rookie of the Year, which is given to a first time CEO and selected by BGCA leadership.

Misti married her college sweetheart, Alan, 17 years ago. She is a devoted “baseball mom” to her 12 year old son, Nathan, and a passionate “Lego Castle Engineer” to her 3 year old son Jackson. Potter’s 16 year career in the Boys & Girls Club Movement has been one of successes and failures, lessons taught and lessons learned. Her commitment to working with others to meet the needs of children, families and professionals throughout our community and the country at large will all come together in January of 2014 when she officially begins her term as President of the National Professionals Association of Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
