(January 7, 2014) Tenet Healthcare’s three North Texas hospitals, Centennial Medical Center in Frisco, Doctors Hospital at White Rock Lake in Dallas and Lake Pointe Medical Center in Rowlett , recently launched the “Path to Health” campaign to help patients and community members understand the new healthcare laws and the insurance options available under the Affordable Care Act.
“This campaign is a great opportunity for Tenet’s North Texas hospitals to introduce the guidelines and changes that are occurring as a result of the Affordable Care Act in a way that is easy to understand,” said LPMC CEO Brett Lee. “As a patient, there’s nothing more important than trusting your healthcare provider is working not only to make sure you receive the best care, but also to ensure you understand all possible and applicable options for receiving that care.”
“Path to Health” is supported by social media and a website that offers guidance in both English and Spanish. The website includes a variety of helpful tools, including quick tips and a subsidy calculator, which illustrates premiums and subsidies for individuals purchasing coverage in marketplaces created by ACA.
The campaign also is being used to teach people how to sign up for ACA coverage, ensure patients are properly prepared for the law’s open enrollment period and simplify a complex and extensive set of regulations for those most affected.
Doctors Hospital CEO Jay Krishnaswamy shared, “These changes are not just reshaping the healthcare system in our country. They are affecting millions of people and the coverage that is available to them. We see it as our duty, not only as healthcare providers, but as community members, to make sure our patients are knowledgeable and able to utilize these new laws to their benefit and to better their health.”
“Centennial, Lake Pointe and Doctors Hospital are all eager to begin educating North Texas residents on issues that will affect their lives and health,” stated Centennial CEO Joe Thomason. “It is imperative that everyone has the facts from a source they can trust. We want citizens of our communities to take advantage of the great resources they have for all things ACA related in these hospitals and through ‘Path to Health’.”
