Robbert van Bloemendaal files application to run for Rowlett City Council, Place 1

ROWLETT (January 30, 2014) The City of Rowlett has proclaimed that the Rowlett Joint Election will take place on Saturday, May 10, 2014. On the ballot are three Council member vacancies, including Councilmember Place 1, Councilmember Place 3, and Councilmember Place 5.

Local businessman Robbert van Bloemendaal is pleased to announce that he has submitted a completed application for Councilmember Place 1. Robbert has also subscribed to the Code of Fair Campaign Practices.

Robbert has been a resident of Rowlett for over 20 years and he has owned a business in Rowlett since 2007. Robbert became a US citizen in April 2007, and he has been a contributing member and Ambassador of the Rowlett Chamber of Commerce since August 2008. Graduating from the 2009 Rowlett Leadership Class XIX, Robbert became a Director for the Rowlett Chamber of Commerce in January 2012.  He has also been an active member of the Rowlett Lions Club since 2012.

Robbert van Bloemendaal has been an ardent supporter of the Rowlett community for many years and says he now feels called to “step up” and serve the community, citizens, and businesses there as an elected member of the Rowlett City Council. As a Councilmember, Robbert looks forward to providing input and valued support in order to provide the citizens of Rowlett an even better place to live and work. To this end, Robbert looks forward to your kind support. 

Robbert would like to remind you that if you need to register to vote, the last day to do so OR to make a change of address in order to vote in the Saturday, May 10, 2014 Joint Election is Thursday, April 10.
