ROCKWALL COUNTY (January 29, 2014) When was the last time you participated in a team building event that was unique, fun and positively impacted the lives of kids? The Boys & Girls Club of Rockwall County is busy planning its 2nd Annual Iron Chef Challenge – a fundraising event that tests one’s culinary skills and creativity while helping local children.
Area businesses and organizations sign up in groups of ten to compete in the Challenge, which is set for 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Southfork Ranch. Sponsorships are available and can be tailored to meet the needs of individual businesses. 2013 participants may reserve their team first; registration opens to the general public on February 14.
Each team will be assisted by an experienced chef who will help create a culinary masterpiece and will compete against other teams including corporate, civic and community leaders. Each team’s final dish will be ranked in a variety of fun, entertaining categories by celebrity judges who will ultimately award the highest honor of the evening, the “Golden Ladle.” Prizes will be given for Most Creative Team Name, Craziest Team Attire, People’s Choice for Best Skit, Most Spirited Chef and Trivia Challenge winner, among others.
“The Iron Chef Challenge is a great way to treat clients to a fun dinner that shows your company believes in social responsibility, supports the community and knows how to have a great time,” said Misti Potter, president and CEO of BGC Rockwall. “The event is perfect for groups and businesses of all sizes. By supporting the Iron Chef Challenge, you are guaranteed a positive, memorable experience while helping the Boys & Girls Club continue to meet the educational, social and recreational needs of kids.”
