ROCKWALL COUNTY (January 14, 2014) After learning that 24 million Christians of voting age are not registered to vote, several concerned citizens of Rockwall decided to do something about it.
Michelle Smith, Texas State Director of Concerned Women of America, Mike Kennedy with Gideon’s International and Tina Millican, a local tea party activist, decided to do vote drives in local Rockwall County churches to try to get out the Christian vote locally.
“Our hope is that more Christians will vote and as a result more of our nation’s laws and more of our nation’s leaders will reflect our biblical values,” said Tina Millican. “We are thinking nationally, and acting locally.”
January 18, 19, 25 and 26 several local churches will have voter cards available for easy registration by members and visitors. Churches included in this drive are: First Baptist – Heath, First Baptist – Rockwall, First United Methodist, Lake Pointe Church, Lakeshore Church, Our Savior Lutheran and Ridgeview Church.
In addition, this year in Texas voters will be REQUIRED to show a photo identification. Your name on your photo identification and your voter registration needs to match. And your registration must be mailed by February 2 to be able to vote in the March 4 Primary.
