ROCKWALL (January 26, 2014) The Rockwall Yellowjacket boys and girls swim teams competed in the District 11-5A Swimming and Diving Championships January 25 at the Rockwall ISD Aquatics Center. The Yellowjacket Boys team won the team championship by one point over Tyler Lee (140-139). The Lady Jackets finished second in the team competition, behind Tyler Lee (128-167).
Lady Jacket swimmers won the following events:
200 Medley Relay– Haylie Harbin, Raena Eldridge, Megan Conner, Jasmin Sani – 1:57.46
200 Freestyle: Haylie Harbin – 2:01.27
50 Freestyle: Raena Eldridge – 24.39
100 Butterfly: Raena Eldridge – 1:00.74
500 Freestyle: Haylie Harbin – 5:19.72
400 Freestyle Relay: Megan Conner, Raena Eldridge, Jasmin Sani, Haylie Harbin – 3:54.28
Yellowjacket swimmers won the following events:
200 Medley Relay: Noah Day, Evan Scown, Mitchell Eldridge, William Rapp – 1:43.01
200 Freestyle: William Rapp – 1:50.65
100 Breaststroke: Evan Scown – 1:04.01
Raena Eldridge was named the female Swimmer of the Meet. Jared Butler took the honor for the males.
“Our swimmers have been preparing for this meet since September. Our boys showed their depth in winning a close battle for our first District 11-5A Championship with 14 of the boys advancing to Regionals. And, our girls did a great job in winning 6 of the 11 events,” said Coach Paul Wallace.
