Columnist to speak at Friends of Library Lunch Basket

ROCKWALL, TX (March 16, 2014) Joy Tipping, Dallas Morning News columnist, will be the featured speaker at the April 8th Lunch Basket fundraiser of the Friends of the Rockwall County Library.

As an arts writer and copy editor for the Guide and Arts & Life sections, she covers local arts and movies and frequently reviews books, theater and movies.

Her weekly column, “Joy’s Jaunts” is about interesting local happenings, exhibits, and places that even long-time residents may have overlooked.

Tipping has been at the Morning News (off and on) since 1996, and has also worked as an editor and reporter on the National and Metro desks.

All meetings of Friends of the Library are open to the public; however reservations are required and must be made no later than 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 1st .

Meetings are held in the Community Room of the Rockwall County Library, start at 11 a.m. and are followed by an optional lunch by Zach’s Catering.  Cost is $15, payable at the door.  For reservations, call 972-771-8976 or e-mail .
