Rockwall EDC appoints new Chairman of the Board

ROCKWALL, TX (March 12, 2014) The Rockwall Economic Development Corporation has announced the appointment of Chip Imrie as Chairman of the Board.  Imrie is a resident of Rockwall and has been a member of the board since 2010, having previously served as Vice Chairman and Secretary, as well as Chairman of the Prospects Committee.

“Chip is a valuable member of the REDC board, and he will make an excellent chairman,” said Rockwall EDC President and CEO Sheri Franza. “He is a smart and talented business leader and his marketing and business development expertise will be a tremendous asset in our continued work to attract leading corporations to Rockwall.”

Imrie currently serves as the Executive Vice President at GMR Protection Resources, Inc., a certified Women-Owned business based in Heath, Texas, which provides services to support real estate management, security and operations, law enforcement and public safety.  Imrie is responsible for all business development activities at GMR.  Prior to his appointment as Executive Vice President, Imrie served as Sr. Vice President with GMR, at which time he was responsible for all operation aspects of the company.  Before joining the company, Imrie served as Vice President of Operations for On Target Supplies and Logistics.

Imrie brings extensive experience in Security and Loss Prevention, Risk Management and Bank Operations to the REDC Board of Directors, having held several senior level positions including Director of Security at Spiegel Inc.; Sr. Vice President, Director of Security and Corporate Services at First Gibraltar Bank, FSB; and Sr. Vice President and Corporate Procurement at Bank of America NT&SA.  Imrie has also served as a founding member of the BAI Task Force on ATM Crime and as the chair for the ASIS Banking and Finance Security committee.  He has lectured and authored articles on bank security topics, and has extensive experience in bank mergers and acquisitions.
