ROCKWALL, TX (March 27, 2014) The ice storm on February 6th, 2014 may have kept some residents of Rockwall County at home but MOMS Club of Rockwall’s 2nd Annual Bunco Tournament, a fundraiser for Rainbow Room of Rockwall, was still a runaway success despite the flurries and icy roads, allowing for an official donation of more than $7,000 last week during a monthly club meeting.
“The Rainbow Room of Rockwall County appreciates the continued generosity and enthusiastic support from MOMS Club of Rockwall. This donation will help us serve the children in our community who are in the care of the Department of Family and Protective Services,” said Dorothy Burris, Rainbow Room Board President. “The fundraising proceeds from the extremely successful Bunco Party will assist with the purchase of backpacks and school supplies for the school aged children in DFPS care. The Rainbow Room could not continue, in some small way, to make the lives of these children better without the overwhelming support of community organizations such as the MOMS Club of Rockwall.”
MOMS Club of Rockwall is part of an international service organization requiring one local project a year. The 2nd Annual Bunco Fundraiser was held at San Martino Winery, a co-sponsor of the event, and included dozens of local businesses sponsors, including gold level sponsors Zanata’s, Cranium Kids, Wonderfully Made, Mathnasium, The Matteson Group, Sense-able Gym, Eclipse Fitness, Leah Clausen Photography, Shanks Jewelers, Larry and Jessica Robison, Rockwall Modern Dentistry, In Front of The Lens Photography, L. Patrick Grisanti II D.D.S., Marigold Learning Academy, Dallas Mavericks, Designs By Donna, Dixie Love’s Pies, E’lan Hair Studio, Jewel Kade, Yet to Be Determined Furniture Refinishing and many more.
