Rockwall HS Water Polo Teams go 4-0 at Irving ISD Invitational

ROCKWALL, TX (April 1, 2014) The Rockwall High School boys and girls water polo teams competed at the Irving ISD Invitational water polo tournament held at North Lake College earlier this month coming away with a combined 4-0 record, dominating in all four games.

The Yellowjacket Boys first defeated Colleyville High School 16-8 with 7 different players scoring goals. The Yellowjackets never trailed the Panthers. Leading scorer for the Yellowjackets was Evan Scown with 6 goals and Noah Day with 3-goals. Dean Manasco had 5 saves and 5 different Yellowjacket players had 3 or more steals.

Following their game against Colleyville, the Yellowjacket boys crushed Grapevine High School by a score of 18-1. Leading scorers were again Evan Scown and Noah Day with 5-goals a piece. The smothering Jacket defense virtually shut down Grapevine with 17 steals.

The Lady Jackets were equally as impressive defeating Colleyville High School 10-5 in their opening game behind an impressive 8 goals from Junior Jordan Hummingbird and 5 assists from Hannah Prichard. The Lady Jackets then virtually shut down Irving Nimitz High School 12-2 with 18 steals during the victory. Leading scoring were Jordan Hummingbird and Akiko Tran, each with 4-goals.

Rockwall ISD will be hosting the Rockwall ISD Invitational on Saturday, April 5th at the Rockwall ISD Aquatics Center.
