ROCKWALL,TX(May 26, 2014) Residents at Liberty Heights Gracious Retirement Living were given an opportunity to relive their glory days Saturday at a Prom organized by the Rockwall High School Key Club.
The senior residents enjoyed an evening of dancing, decorations and refreshments at an event reminiscent of their high school prom. Family, friends and Key Club members joined in the celebration.
The highlight of the evening was the crowning of the Prom’s King and Queen. The honor went to Earl Price, who was named King of his own high school prom some 70 years ago, and the lovely Becky King, whose smile lit up the room when she accepted the title.
Key Club president Ida Hishmeh said that Key Club members had been discussing ways to give back, and they decided that hosting a prom for the Liberty Heights residents would be a perfect fit for both the club and retirement community.
The event was such a success that the Key Club plans to make the prom an annual tradition, and they look forward to bringing more fresh ideas to fruition in their continuing efforts to serve the community.
The RHS Key Club is under the direction of Dr. Michelle Pauken.
