ROCKWALL, TX (June 13, 2014) Students in Julie Woodard’s sixth grade social studies class at Pullen Elementary ended the school year by raising more than $1,500 for the Boys & Girls Club of Rockwall County.

The students created original works of art reflective of the people and cultures of our world. The artwork was on exhibit at Artists Gallery on the Square, judged by local artist Joetta Currie, then sold in a Giving Auction as part of the students’ Global Community Service Project. The money will be used to purchase supplies for BGC’s newly refurbished Art Room, which was made possible through the Leadership Rockwall Class of 2014.

The check, which was signed by sixth grade handwriting champion Amelia Bird, was written for $1,406, but sales continued to pour in for a total donation of $1,521!
