Children, families with special needs get exclusive access to Hawaiian Falls

Champions Day benefits Special Olympics, MDA, and Easter Seals

(July 28, 2014) Hawaiian Falls and Tom Thumb have joined forces for Champions Day on Saturday, August 9 at all five North Texas Hawaiian Falls waterparks, benefiting Easter Seals, MDA, and Special Olympics.

Children with special needs and their families will have exclusive use of the parks from 8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.  The parks will open to the public 10:30 a.m. – 6 p.m., but the Champions and their families can stay as long as they want at no additional charge.

“Champions Day is one of our favorite events,” said David Busch, President of Hawaiian Falls Waterparks. “To see the joy on the children’s faces and the special bond with their families is priceless. We are proud to host them every year.”

The “Champions” (guests with special needs) get in free. Family members can purchase discounted tickets for $5 each at the gate (regular admission is $26.99) with a Champions Day coupon available to download at http://hfalls.com/championsday.

“Our mission is to bring families closer together and we want to bless our special needs families with an opportunity to create memories,” said Busch.  “By partnering with Tom Thumb, we can reach even more special needs families throughout the month. Tom Thumb will be selling discounted day pass tickets from August 1 through August 31, 2014. Everyone pays kids prices ($19.99) and $1 from every ticket sold through Tom Thumb will benefit Easter Seals, MDA, and Special Olympics.”

Champions Day will be 8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 9 at all five North Texas Hawaiian Falls waterparks: Garland, The Colony, Mansfield, Roanoke and White Settlement. In addition, Hawaiian Falls will donate funds raised on August 9 through Neighbors 2 Neighbors, an onsite coin collection program, to the three charities.
