ROCKWALL, TX (July 10, 2014) While the temperatures climb and we head into the lazy days of summer, Rockwall County Helping Hands is busy making plans to help local kids in struggling families get a good start into the new school year.
Rockwall County Helping Hands is undertaking a task to raise money and gather school supplies to help over 1,200 students in Rockwall and Royse City schools have a successful school year. Students eligible to receive supplies come from low-income families and often from families that have suffered loss of employment or extreme medical issues. Every day we serve families living in poverty. Supplies are expensive, and Helping Hands serves many families that will have to give up food or leave a utility bill unpaid in order to provide supplies for their children.
More than 1,200 kids are projected to need supplies, and Helping Hands wants to provide each child with as many of the required supplies as they possibly can. They have an avenue for purchasing discounted supplies so monetary donations will be most helpful at this time. They hope to be able to spend at least $20 per child. Donations of any amount will be beneficial, and receiving donations in early July will be extremely helpful as the distribution date is set for August 2.
Here’s how you can help Rockwall County kids get a good start into the new school year:
* Make a monetary donation at rockwallhelpinghands.com or mail a check to:

* Visit local community--minded restaurants and businesses that have agreed to donate a portion of their sales in July. It’s easy -- just visit the businesses on their particular “give back” day and they will apply a portion of your receipt back to RCHH in the form of a donation.
