New First Course Kick-Off Party to Give Exclusive First Taste with Festive Cirque-Themed Event

DALLAS, TX (July 9, 2014) The countdown is on for the start of the summer’s hottest dining event, the 17th annual DFW Restaurant Week presented by Central Market.  Reservation Day, July 14, the official list of participating restaurants will be unveiled and reservations will open for August dining.  For the first time ever, diners can get a first taste of featured food and cocktails at the festive DFW Restaurant Week First Course Kick-Off Party, set for August 7.  DFW Restaurant Week aims to serve-up a combined $800,000 for the charity beneficiaries, Lena Pope and the North Texas Food Bank, to help children and families in need.

“DFW Restaurant Week is our largest single fundraiser, offering supporters the opportunity to dine out for a cause and place food on the table for hungry families,” said Jan Pruitt, president and CEO, North Texas Food Bank.  “The donation we receive from each meal purchased during the campaign will provide between 15 and 27 meals for hungry North Texans.”

DFW Restaurant Week – Delectable Details

Diners can enjoy a different scene and cuisine every day as they select from more than 125 top restaurants offering delicious three-course prix fixe dinners for either $35 or $45, or the Cadillac Lunch Experience brought to you by Oak Farms Dairy, featuring three-course lunches for just $25, at select locations.  Twenty (20) percent from each meal purchased will be donated to one of the charity partners. On Reservation Day the official list of participating restaurants, menus and other delicious offerings will be live on DFWRestaurantWeek.com, such as:

  • Preview sponsored by GuideLive: Aug. 8-10 – Advance weekend of dining at select restaurants
  • DFW Restaurant Week Dining – Aug. 11-17; with restaurant extensions through Aug. 24 or Aug. 31
  • Central Market Fourth Course – Spend $25 at local Central Markets and request a certificate for a free dinner course at participating restaurants! Earn “two for one” certificates on Reservation Day, July 14!

DFW Restaurant Week First Course Kick-Off Party – Aug. 7

Celebrity chefs and spirited mixologists will be the stars of the show for this festive cirque-style evening kicking-off DFW Restaurant Week 2014. Attendees will whet their appetites with featured craft cocktails, wine, beer and delectable bites from 20+ favorite North Texas restaurants, along with live main stage music by

Larry G(ee), circus-themed performers, chef demos and more. Tickets go on sale today at FirstCourseDFW.com, with 20 percent of every VIP and General Admission ticket also going to NTFB and Lena Pope.
