ROCKWALL, TX. (July 5, 2014) 4th grader at Nebbie Williams, Lake Bennett, came back from 5 strokes down to win the Taylormade Junior Championship, sponsored by PGA Superstores of America.
The tournament took place at TPC Craig Ranch on June 23 & 24.
This was a two day 36 hole event with over 150 competitors in age groups from 7-18.
Lake won the 9 year old age division by posting a 77 on Monday and a 74 on Tuesday.
Lake also competed in the Drive Chip and Putt contest sponsored by the North Texas Junior PGA on June 29th and qualified to compete in the 2nd round with hopes of ultimately winning a pass to August National in April 2015.
Blue Ribbon News wishes Lakecontinued success this summer as he continues to compete in hopes of qualifying for the state championship in August 2014 as well as competing in the 5th Annual Texas Boys and Girls PGA Championship at Brookhaven country club on July 7th and 8th.
