ROCKWALL, TX. (July 18, 2014) The Rockwall Community Playhouse is presenting its teen musical Godspell July 18-August 3. The show runs Friday and Saturday nights at 8pm, and Sundays at 2pm.
The show features songs and skits, based on the parables detailing the life of Jesus as told in the Gospels of Matthew and Luke. Director Lloyd Turney, assisted by Assistant Director Tana Yater, Music Director Shannon Souddress and Choreographer Nancy Pistilli, have lead the seventeen member cast aged 13-19 in the entertaining recreation of the 1971 Broadway hit. Written by Stephen Schwartz, the genius behind Wicked and Pippin, the production is funny and touching. The song Day by Day from the original cast album reached #13 on the Billboard pop singles chart in the summer of 1972. Other tunes include: All Good Gifts, God Save the People, Tower of Babble, Beautiful City, Bless the Lord, and All for the Best.
Rockwall Community Playhouse is located at 609 E. Rusk, just 2 blocks off the Square in downtown Rockwall.
Tickets can be purchased on-line at rockwallcommunityplayhouse.org, by calling 972-722-3399, or at the box office 30 minutes before showtime.
