ROCKWALL, TX (August 11, 2014) The Rockwall Citizens Police Academy is accepting applications for the fall 2014 session. Classes are expected to fill quickly.

The Citizens Police Academy is a 30 hour block of comprehensive instruction that allows citizens to experience and learn about law enforcement topics which are important to them. Some of the topics covered include:
Training
Telecommunications
Criminal Investigations
DWI Enforcement
Crime Prevention
Domestic Violence
Narcotics Investigations
K-9 Operations
Sex Offenders
Courts
Recruitment & Hiring
Accident Investigations
Traffic Enforcement
It is a beneficial exercise for citizens and officers, allowing each to learn from the other. Attendance is open to anyone living or working in the County of Rockwall. Applicants should have a clear criminal history and must be at least 21 years of age. There is a $20 charge for the course which covers binders and other classroom materials.
