ROCKWALL, TX (August 18, 2014) U.S. Congressman Ralph Hall was recognized during a special appreciation event today hosted by Rock Ridge Assisted Living and Memory Care in Rockwall. “Ralph Hall Day on Ralph Hall Parkway” brought together community members, friends and family.

Mayor David Sweet opened the event by sharing several of Congressman Hall’s accomplishments. One of the highlights was that on November 27, 2012, Congressman Hall became the oldest member in the U.S. House of Representatives to ever cast a vote.

The many years of life have given Congressman Hall many anecdotes which he graciously shared with those present—his quest for work after serving in the Navy, applying to law school and running for his first political office (County Judge of Rockwall County, Texas 1950 and 1962).

It is said that behind a great man, there is a great woman. In his comments, Congressman Hall recognized and honored his late wife, Mary Ellen Murphy, as being a catalyst in his life and career.

The event culminated with Congressman Hall gifting a U.S. flag to Jason Wood, Executive Director at Rock Ridge.
