First Baptist Church Rockwall offers ESL program

ROCKWALL, TX (August 22, 2014) First Baptist Church of Rockwall announces a new English as a Second Language program for adults in the Lake Ray Hubbard area.

Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced Students classes will be on Tuesdays from 6:30 -8:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 610 S. Goliad across from the U.S. Post Office.

Registration for fall classes is September 2 and 9 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., at the church. Late registration will be on Tuesday, September 16 and any Tuesday during the year.

Enrollment is limited to 40 people on a first come first served basis. Classes begin September 16 at 6:30 p.m. and follow the Rockwall ISD calendar. Annual cost is $5 for supplies and $20 for the student book (may be paid in four payments).  Childcare will be provided for ESL students with children ages 6 weeks through 6th grade.  Childcare is offered for $1 per family, per week. Assistance with homework is offered for children in 2nd – 6th grades in childcare.

Adult students in inter-active classes will learn language skills that help with English proficiency, helpful study skills, and skills beneficial for everyday life.  Instructors for the classes have been trained to teach ESL to all people groups through the Dallas Baptist Association.
