Rockwall girls sweep first home swim meet

Three-time All-American senior Raena Eldridge wins the 200 Individual Medley and the 100 Breaststroke.

ROCKWALL, TX (October 12, 2014) Rockwall High School competed in the first home swim meet of the season October 9 at the Rockwall ISD Aquatics Center. The meet was scored as a 4-way dual meet. In the end, RHS girls swept all three schools, defeating Heath 53-37, Ranchview 69-13, and Newman Smith 52-34. RHS boys fell to Heath 35-57 while defeating Ranchview 69-25 and Newman Smith 55-42.

For the season, RHS boys are now 3-1 in dual meet competition while the girls are undefeated at 4-1.

Standouts on the boys side were for the meet included 2013-2014 All-American Senior William Rapp who won the 200 Freestyle and the 500 Freestyle while a trio of sophomores finished 2nd in at least one event. Braxton Harbin finished 2nd in 500 Freestyle. Dean Manasco finished 2nd in the 100 Backstroke. and, Ronan Passman finished 2nd in the 100 Breaststroke.

On the girls side, three Lady Jackets won events including 3-time All-American Senior Raena Eldridge who won the 200 Individual Medley and the 100 Breaststroke. 2-Time All-State Senior Morgan Barnes won the 100 Backstroke while Freshman standout Amanda Armstrong won the 500 Freestyle.

Next up for the Yellowjackets will be a home 3-way dual meet vs Highland Park and Heath on Saturday, October 18 at the Rockwall ISD Aquatics Center.
