What is Food for Kids?

Over 25% of the children in Rockwall County qualify for the free or reduced lunch program.  Many of these children may or may not have enough to eat at home over the weekends.  Through our partnership with the Boys and Girls Club of Rockwall and Helping Hands of Rockwall, this service project was identified and created.

On the second Tuesdays of each month, we purchase non-perishable food at a local store.  At our club meeting, members package food for 300 – 400 meals which are then distributed to both the Boys and Girls Club and to Helping Hands.

We sustain their project only through the generosity of the community with businesses and individuals supporting the program.  Please consider being a part of the Kiwanis Food for Kids program by contributing or by coming on a second Tuesday of every month to help bag the food for our kids.
