Rest Haven and The Flower Box Host 3rd Annual Old-Fashioned USO Canteen for Veteran’s Day
ROCKWALL, TX (November 10, 2014) On Tuesday, November 11th, from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., the staff from Rest Haven and the Flower Box will bring the festive atmosphere of an old-fashioned USO Canteen to Ted Cain’s Used Car Lot, on theHistoric Downtown Square. All local veterans, along with their family and friends, are invited to visit the “drive thru” style Canteen to enjoy free coffee, hot chocolate and donuts.
“Our staff always looks forward to this event where we can honor and serve our hometown heroes,” said Ann Cain, owner of The Flower Box. “Whether they want to drive through or park and stay awhile, we hope that our veterans, along with their family and friends, will stop by and let us say thank you.”
Over the years, Dewayne and Ann Cain have taken great pride in honoring local veterans with various programs and celebrations at The Flower Box and at Rest Haven. “We know that we can never give back enough to all the men and women who have sacrificed to protect our nation and our freedoms,” said Mr. Cain, President and Founder of Rest Haven. “Offering a cup of hot coffee and a fresh donut is a small gesture, but we do it with hearts that are full of gratitude.”
The donuts are being provided by Jimmy’s Donuts located at101 E. Main StreetinRoyseCity, and by Donut Station #2 at3045 N. Goliad Streetin Rockwall. The coffee will be provided by the Starbucks at I-30 and Horizon in Rockwall. “We are thankful for these community neighbors, who are so generously donating the coffee and donuts for this event,” Mr. Cain said. “It is a great show of support and appreciation for our local veterans.”
Ted Cain’s Used Car Lot is located at the corner of Kaufman and San Jacinto Streets, adjacent to Community Bank and the historic downtown courthouse.
