ROCKWALL, TX (November 4, 2014) Rockwall couple Robert and Milda Arlauskas have triumphed over their fair share of trials over the course of their lifetime. Now, through the opportunities offered by their Which Wich restaurants, the Arlauskases are in a position to contribute to an organization that supports families overcoming their own hurdles.
The Arlauskases, owners of the Rockwall and Garland Which Wich locations, recently began an on-going relationship with Exodus Ministries, an organization that aims to empower formerly incarcerated mothers reuniting with their children. The Arlauskases came to know the organization through their regular customers-turned-friends, Brenda and Cliff Hale.
Cliff is the Executive Director of the Dallas-based group and the Arlauskases were looking for an organization to support. Through Project PB&J, which invites guests to donate money toward a fund for PB&J sandwiches that are then donated to local organizations, Which Wich is able to contribute in a meaningful way. At the first Exodus Ministries event, Which Wich donated sandwiches, cases of water and chips to a party held for Exodus Ministries families.
“We started Project PB&J in February, and we’re currently continuing to search for more nonprofit organizations to partner with,” said Robert.
In addition to the great work they’re doing within the community, the couple also have an inspiring background. Both Milda and Robert’s parents came from Lithuania during WW2, and the duo met at a Lithuanian camp at age 12. Milda has since battled cancer four times; skin cancer, bone marrow cancer and breast cancer. She has re-entered the work force with Which Wich after spending the majority of her time as a stay-at-home mom.
Robert ascended up the ladder in the corporate world after starting at Pier One Imports as a manager trainee. At the end of his 26-year career with the company, Robert had made his way up to Executive VP of Stores. His most recent role prior to opening Which Wich was as Game Stop’s Vice President of Stores in the East Coast.
“My wife and I had always wanted to open our own business,” Robert said. “I was ready for a change from the corporate life, and was looking for an opportunity to get out of it. Which Wich was a fun concept that I wanted to get involved in.”
The couple is now looking forward to opening another Which Wich location in the surrounding communities.
