Rockwall Urgent Care hosts toy drive benefiting Boys & Girls Club

ROCKWALL, TX (Nov. 21, 2014) Though it’s hard to believe considering the overall affluence of the Lake Ray Hubbard communities, some children in the area might go without much in the way of Christmas gifts. That’s the case for nearly 200 kids who frequent the Boys & Girls Club of Rockwall County. To address this and help make their holidays more special, Rockwall Urgent Care is having a toy drive.

The clinic will have a giant box in their lobby to collect toys for Rockwall-area children. Feel free to drop off a new, unwrapped toy during operating hours any day between Nov. 17-Dec. 17, 2014.

Rockwall Urgent Care is open 7 days a week, as follows:

• Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-9 p.m.
• Saturday 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
• Sunday 12-6 p.m.

Stephan Larson, Director of Programming Services for BGC Rockwall, said that approximately 60% of their students are on the free or reduced lunch program at local schools. “Many of the families we help actually have to choose between paying bills or buying their children Christmas gifts. At the annual Christmas party, we see parents crying; they hug us. They’re extremely thankful for the toy drive.”

Leslie Wilson, Marketing Director of Rockwall Urgent Care, said, “When I spoke with Debi Williamson, the Club BLUE Coordinator at the Boys & Girls Club, she told me they had lost one of their big toy drive sponsors from previous years. Basically, our offer to help came at just the right time. We’re pleased to partner with this incredible facility that does so much for children in Rockwall County.”

Dr. Scott Pierce, Medical Director of Rockwall Urgent Care, has challenged his staff to contribute to the toy drive, a natural response for these caring employees who enjoy serving the Rockwall-are community in a variety of ways.

If you aren’t able to help with the toy drive, please consider participating in the Facebook “like” campaign. For every new “like” Rockwall Urgent Care receives on Facebook from November 17-December 17, they’ll donate $1.00 (up to $250.00) to Boys and Girls Club of Rockwall County.

The clinic, voted BEST URGENT CARE in Rockwall by the readers of Living Magazine, is conveniently located at 810 E. Ralph Hall Parkway (behind Half Price Books).
