HEATH, TX (Dec. 18, 2014) The City of Heath recently honored employees for their outstanding performance in 2014, including Kristi Smith, who was named Employee of the Year.
Departmental Employees of the Year were also recognized and include Jennifer Colombo, Administrative Services; Leisa Price, Public Works; and Officer Cody Whaley, Public Safety.
The employees chosen for the 2014 awards displayed excellence in numerous areas including on-the-job performance, customer service, cooperation, integrity, dependability, judgment, initiative and workplace knowledge as well as noteworthy achievements within the year.
“The closest government to the people that exists in the world is City government,” said Mr. Thatcher as he presented the awards. “That’s why I love this job so much, and it’s why I appreciate each of you for your service. You are always willing to do whatever is necessary to care for our citizens.”

An employee with the City since 2010, Kristi Smith is Purchaser and cross trained in several areas of the Finance Department.
“Kristi can do anything!” said Director of Finance Laurie Mays. “And if she doesn’t know how to do something, she will learn. She’s truly a self-starter and a team player who always has a positive attitude, even in difficult situations.”
The City also presented Tenure of Service Awards during the program. Employees recognized include:

Mary Greschaw, Finance Department
