Cub Scout Pack 386 celebrates season with giving, volunteering

ROCKWALL/HEATH, TX (Dec. 30, 2014) Circle Ten Council’s Cub Scout Pack 386 has been very busy this holiday season with community service and volunteerism.  On Wednesday, December 17, 2014, Pack 386 hosted two United States Marine Corps Sergeants who collected donations from the Cub Scouts for the Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots program.

This event was the culmination of the Cub Scouts’ hard work at home which earned them money to purchase the gifts.  The presentation of the gifts was made at the monthly Pack meeting at Amy Parks Heath Elementary School.  The scouts listened to the sergeants explain the history of the Toys for Tots program, which was founded in 1947, and how it has grown to currently serving millions of children during the holiday season.

The Cub Scouts also made Christmas cards for recovering military veterans at the pack meeting.  The cards were mailed to veterans at the Dallas VA Medical Center.

Cub Scout Pack 386 includes approximately 45 boys in the first to fifth grades and is based in Heath, Texas. The First United Methodist Church of Heath is the charter organization for Pack 386.

Submitted by Patty Pinsonnault, Committee Chair for Cub Scout Pack 386. Her husband, Scott, is the Cubmaster.
