ROCKWALL, TX (Dec. 8, 2014) Honda Cars of Rockwall has begun its annual toy drive – literally. The dealership each year collects toys, which it donates to Rockwall County Helping Hands. In previous years the dealership encouraged employees to donate as well as customers who felt inclined. This year they have decided to drive the collection efforts even further with a sweeter deal.
“We realize that there are folks in our community that are down on their luck this year and we are here to make Christmas morning special for them,” said Mike Chouteau, owner of Honda Cars of Rockwall.
Honda Cars of Rockwall has introduced a sales promotion lovingly named Coco Chouteau’s Santa Paws Toy Drive. The namesake of the collection effort comes from a friendly yet furry face that works at the dealership. Coco is Mike and Robin’s 5-pound Chihuahua mix who is seen daily at the dealership in the executive offices as well as greeting customers with a wagging tail.
Here’s how the sales promotion works: Honda Cars of Rockwall, on top of its usual toy collection efforts, is offering customers an opportunity to save an additional $100 just by helping out others.
“All customers have to do is bring in a toy up to $20 in value and we will give them in return a $100 discount towards the purchase of their new car,” said Sean Hodges, general sales manager of the dealership.
Last year, the dealership collected over 150 toys and managed to fill a Honda Ridgeline truck full of joy. This year they hope to double that. Honda Cars of Rockwall encourages the community to drop off toys even if they are not in the market for a new car. The dealership will be acting as a collection point for holiday toy collection.
