Rockwall City Council appoints John Hohenshelt to serve in Place 2

ROCKWALL, TX (Dec. 6, 2014) The Rockwall City Council appointed John Hohenshelt to serve in Place 2 currently held by Mayor Pro Tem Jim Pruitt, who will take over the position of Mayor when David Sweet resigns after the Dec. 15, 2014 regular City Council meeting.  The action to appoint Hohenshelt as the new member was taken at the Dec. 1 meeting.  Mayor Sweet was elected Rockwall County Judge in the November election, a position he assumes on Jan. 1, 2015.

A board member for six years, he will resign his position prior to joining City Council.  Swearing-in ceremonies for Pruitt and Hohenshelt are scheduled for Dec. 15 following the council meeting.  Place 2 will be on the ballot in May 2015 to fill the remaining one-year, unexpired term, and Mr. Hohenshelt is eligible to run in this position if he so choses.
