Donors sought to help Eagle Scout project at Squabble Creek Trail

Caleb met with the Mayor of Rockwall to discuss funding for his Eagle Scout Project. According to Caleb's mom, Michele Davis, Mayor Pruitt is going to sponsor a tree personally and has offered more assistance from the city.

ROCKWALL, TX (Jan. 29, 2015) I’ve enjoyed being a columnist for the Blue Ribbon News for over a year, where I’ve had the pleasure of sharing my love of Boy Scouts. My Eagle Scout Project has now begun and I need your help to complete it.

The project consists of placing plaques around the 6 mile trail of Squabble Creek in Rockwall. The plaques will identify local trees so that it will be an educational experience to now walk the trail. School groups, scouting groups, hikers, and others will learn about the vast number of unique trees present.

Squabble Creek is a extremely popular trail in Rockwall and I personally have frequented it many times in my life. I was only nine years old when I decided I wanted to do my Eagle Scout Project there. I had the honor of recently presenting it to the Rockwall Parks and Recreation Board at their January meeting and they approved it unanimously.

Now is your chance to make your mark on our community. Any and all donations are welcome and appreciated. I have a special offer for local businesses to have their name and logo on a plaque both at the trailhead and on a specific tree. Only $200 will advertise your business for a decade or more as the plaques have a ten year warranty.
