ROCKWALL, TX (Jan. 25, 2015) Dave Tanner, morning show host for Radio KAAM, will be the featured performer at the Feb. 10 meeting of Friends of the Rockwall County Library.
Tanner, a talented singer and pianist, will sing “Love Songs,” which may be a departure from his high-energy entertainment on the sample clips at his website: http://www.davetannermusic.com/demos-downloads/
The multi-faceted entertainer’s resume lists a wide range of credits. He acted in eight films including the Oscar-winning “The Trip To Bountiful.” He worked in over 300 radio and TV commercials, and children know him as “Farmer Dooley” with “Barney The Dinosaur.” With a switch from children’s entertainer to the serious side, Tanner also was a researcher for “Paul Harvey’s The Rest Of The Story.”
In his 44 years as a full-time entertainer, Dave performed for three U.S. presidents, five Texas governors, and leaders of business and industry from four continents. A native of Gainesville, Texas, Tanner makes his home in Irving with his wife Gina.
In a brief business meeting preceding the program, the Nominating Committee will present a slate of officers for the year 2015-16. Nominations may be made from the floor prior to the election.
Friends meets six times a year and all meetings, with the exception of the Christmas Luncheon, are held in the Community Room of the Rockwall County Library. The group works to promote the interest and welfare of the Library and profits from their various fundraising events supplement the County library budget, paying for special children’s programming, adult literacy programs, subscriptions and other items.
Meetings start at 11:00 a.m. and visitors are invited; however reservations are required and must be received by Tuesday, Feb. 3. That is also the last day to cancel prior reservations. For reservations, e-mail email@example.com or call 972-771-8976.
