ROCKWALL, TX (Jan. 1, 2015) Save the date and come to audition for Wizard of Oz at Rockwall Community Playhouse, located at 609 E. Rusk St., on March 14 or 15 at 1 p.m.
All roles are available. This is a great opportunity for families to perform on stage together!
Roles include:
- Dorothy Gale – Age 12-15 – naive & innocent.
- Aunt Em: Dorothy’s aunt. Gentle, good. & loving. (Also plays Glinda, the good witch of the North)
- Uncle Henry (Emerald City Guard): Dorothy’s uncle. An older man in his 50’s. Sentimental pushover.
- Hunk (Scarecrow): a farmhand who doesn’t have a brain. A man age late-teen to 40s
- Hickory (Tin Woodsman): a farmhand who doesn’t have a heart. A man age late-teen to 40s
- Zeke (Cowardly Lion): a farmhand who doesn’t have any courage. A man age late-teen to 40s
- Miss Almira Gulch, a busybody spinster. The queen of mean. Loves monkeys. (Also plays Elphaba, the wicked witch of the West)
- Professor Chester Marvel (Wonderful Wizard of OZ): a con artist & fraud. Doesn’t know how to fly balloons. A man age 30-60.
- Children’s roles as Munchkins, Poppies/Snow Flakes & Osian children
- Adult Male & Female chorus roles as Winkies, flying monkeys, Jitterbugs, Osians, Oz Citizens, 3 Crows & 3 Trees.
