Representatives from Rockwall and Heath Police Departments are also expected be on hand to help answer questions.
According to a press release by The Rockwall News, Culpepper said that an increase in family violence crime in Rockwall County is what caused her to apply for and recently receive an $80,000 grant from the North Central Texas Council of Governments to hire a new family violence prosecutor. Rockwall County Commissioners pitched in $11,000 to help cover the total cost. The Rockwall News reported that Rockwall Police are also hiring an additional family violence officer.
Americans Ending Abuse and the Lillian Smith Family Violence Foundation work to reduce domestic, dating, child and sexual abuse crimes, plus provide support services for abuse crime victims.
