Meet the Candidate event March 28 at Rockwall Golf & Athletic Club
ROCKWALL, TX (Feb. 18, 2015) Andrew Hawkes, a 1989 Rockwall High School graduate and 24 year law enforcement veteran administrator has announced he will seek the republican nomination for Rockwall County Sheriff in the 2016 primary election.
Andrew began his law enforcement career in Rockwall in 1990 and is currently the Lieutenant of
community services for the Collin County Sheriff’s Office.
Andrew holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Dallas Baptist University, is a graduate of the Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas, and will graduate from the University of Texas at Dallas next semester with an Executive Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice Administration and Leadership.
Andrew has received prestigious awards from the State of Texas, Rockwall and Collin Counties, Rockwall Rotary Club as well as The Sons of the American Revolution. His highest honor has been the recipient of the first and only Medal of Valor from Collin County, after surviving a face to face shootout with an armed suspect.
Andrew’s vision for the sheriff’s office is to bring transparency, improved law enforcement citizen relations, and modern law enforcement best practices to the Rockwall Sheriff’s Office.
