Church youth group packs up Emergency Food Boxes for elderly

ROCKWALL, TX (Feb. 16, 2015) Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints youth group were hard at work last week packing up tons of emergency food boxes for Meals on Wheels Senior Services of Rockwall County.

The youth group gets together twice a year to fill up cardboard boxes with all kinds of non-perishable foods to be delivered by the church’s adult congregation to the homebound elderly, to be used when MOWSS delivery drivers are unable to deliver food due to emergencies such as severe weather.

MOWSS mission is to keep the elderly and disabled citizens of Rockwall County living in their homes as long as safely possible through supportive services, nutritious meals and daily human contact. To volunteer, make a donation or learn more, visit rockwallmealsonwheels.org or call 972-771-9514.
