Rockwall Chamber announces new staff members

ROCKWALL, TX (Feb. 19, 2015) The Rockwall Area Chamber of Commerce today announced three new staff members: Vice President of Operations Donna Roland; Membership Director John Dickson; and Marketing Coordinator Kathy Lomont.

In Donna Roland’s role as VP of Operations, she will provide management for Chamber operations and administration of membership services, including the maintenance and expansion of the membership base. She will have responsibility for the operational systems of the Chamber and will evaluate the organizational structure and programming as it aligns with the strategic direction and goals, and employ change management strategies.

Roland comes to the Rockwall Area Chamber with a breadth of operations experience in process improvement, cost control, forecasting, growth strategies and establishing service processes to ensure account retention while being committed to excellence in business operations.

“Having served in ownership and key senior level positions in the professional, administrative, accounting & finance and the staffing industry, Donna brings a wide range of experience that will be instrumental in driving the Chamber’s process development strategies,” said Dana K. Macalik, President of the Rockwall Area Chamber of Commerce. “Her vast knowledge of improvement processes to develop sustainable organizations and fiscal management will be an invaluable asset to the Chamber’s general operations.”

Donna and her husband, Mark, have resided in Rockwall County 13 years. Mark is a retired Navy Veteran. They are the proud parents of four children all who call Rockwall County home and best of all – Donna and Mark are grandparents of nine.

John Dickson will replace Brad Bischof who is retiring as the Director of Membership. John’s role will be to increase net membership through customer-focused recruitment and retention programs; to communicate effectively with members; and to heighten awareness and appreciation of Chamber programs, activities and objectives while evaluating and analyzing new programs and modifications to ongoing programs. His role as senior staff will be to support the Strategic Plan and initiatives while enhancing and promoting the Chamber’s’ image and visibility within the community.

John joins the Chamber from Logix Communications where he was a Senior Account Manager. John is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelors of Arts in Sociology. He is married to Mary and they have one child. They are members of the First United Methodist Church in Rockwall. In his spare time, John enjoys clay shooting.

Kathy Lomont has joined the Chamber in the newly created Marketing Communications Coordinator position, which will support the Marketing & Communications Department. Some of her responsibilities will be supporting and managing various communications efforts, including media relations, website, social media, Chamber membership, and Advocacy/Community Leadership outreach as well as event/program promotion. She will coordinate the calendar of events, announcements and work with Chamber committees. She will coordinate and execute tourism activities in support of Visit Rockwall.

Kathy has a degree in General Business Studies from Huntington University and an Associates of Arts in Economics /Anthropology from Indiana-Purdue University.

“With the addition of Donna, John and Kathy, this provides the Chamber the opportunity to continue to build on the strong work already underway in our mission to make every day extraordinary. I look forward to their service and expert insights as part of the Chamber’s leadership team,” said Dana.
