Stingerettes take top honors at regional dance competition

ROCKWALL, TX (Feb. 8, 2015) The Stingerette Dance team recently competed in their first regional competition of the year, winning Team Sweepstakes – meaning they scored above a 92 on all routines entered.

They won the coveted Judges Award. They also won Best Overall Team Novelty, Best Team Lyrical, Best Team Modern. On the Team Modern routine the Stingerettes scored all 100s from every single judge – which has never been done!

The Stingerettes were also awarded Best Creativity for every single dance in which they competed. The Team won Grand Champions for the entire competition. Kenzie Mcknight won Kick Master Champion for the best High Kicks at the contest.

The Stingerette Elite dance team – the ShowStoppers – also competed in the Elite category where they brought home Best Elite Lyrical, Best Elite Open Routine, and Best Elite Contemporary. They also won best Team Technique and Grand Champions for the Elite Category.

The Stingerette Officers also competed and were equally as successful, bringing home Best Technique Officer Group, Officer Circle of Champions, Sweepstakes and Judges Awards, and Best Officer Jazz, Best Officer Open Routine, and Best Officer Lyrical Routine. In the solo competition for Varsity both Emma Cox and Riley Eidson were chosen as finalists with Riley bringing home the Varsity winner title and Emma was first runner up. Congratulations to our Varsity Dancers and the total sweep of the competition.

The Junior Varsity dance team also competed over the weekend. The JV team were winners as well with Best Novelty, Best Pom Routine, and Best Modern.

The JV officers also competed and won Best Officer Jazz, Best Officer Lyrical and Best Officer Modern. Both the Officers and the Team won Sweepstakes trophies and Judges Awards.

The JV girls also participated in solo competitions where Tatum Graham and Brooke Peterson both were solo finalists. Tatum Graham won the JV solo division and Brooke was the first runner up. Congratulations to our JV Jacket Babes on an amazing beginning to contest season.
