Julie Klutts, Lone Star CASA volunteer.

ROCKWALL, TX (March 19, 2015) Lone Star CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) will host two Information Sessions next week for those interested in volunteering or wishing to learn more. The sessions will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 23; 6:30 p.m. at the Lone Star CASA office at 108 Kenway in Rockwall, 75087; and at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 26 at Carmona’s Restaurant at 311 Tanger Drive in Terrell, 75160.

CASA volunteers are appointed by a judge to discover the best possible outcome for abused or neglected children in foster care.  It is the goal of the CASA volunteer that every one of these children is in a safe, permanent home in a timely manner.

You don’t have to be a lawyer or social worker to be a volunteer.  CASA welcomes volunteers from all cultures, professions, and educational backgrounds.  They are looking for people with a desire to help abused children.

CASA volunteers:

  • Complete 30 Hours of New Volunteer Training
  • Review Case Records
  • Research Information
  • Prepare Court Reports
  • Make recommendations to the Court
  • Advocate in Court
  • Complete 12 hours of training per year

Those interested in attending an Information Session should RSVP to or call 972-772-5858.
