ROCKWALL, TX (March 14, 2015) Since the fall of 2013 when “Night Owls” was first introduced by Rockwall Old Town Shoppes, busy shoppers have been taking advantage of downtown retail stores remaining open until 8 p.m. on the 2nd Thursday of each month. During these Night Owl events, many shops offer refreshments, door prizes and special discounts. Live music was added in the spring of 2014.
New for 2015 is a different theme each month. Each merchant has decorated an owl to represent their store. Look for them outside the stores on 2nd Thursdays. Here’s what’s in store for shoppers:
April 9– Theme: Tax Month. Save the tax on your purchase.
May 14– Theme: National Wildflower Week. Pick a seed packet to discover your discount.
June 11– Theme: National Fruit & Veggie Week. Pick a seed packet to discover your discount.
July 9 – Theme: Show Your Patriotism. Wear red, white and blue to receive discount.
August 13 – Theme: Back to School. Customers who bring school supply donations for Boys & Girls Club receive discount.
September 10 – Theme: Show your team spirit. Wear Team Spirit shirt/gear to receive discount.
October 8 – Theme: Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Wear pink to receive discount.
November 12– Theme: Fill the Food Pantry. Customers who bring canned goods/food pantry donations for Helping Hands receive discount.
December 10 – Theme: Christmas Sweater Month. Wear your ugly Christmas sweater to receive discount.
