Look!
From 9:00 am -1:30 pm, two private gardens and one public garden will be open for your viewing pleasure. If you are looking for ways to brighten up your landscape using water conscious plant materials, this is the event for you!
One garden is gorgeously designed and maintained by a professional Landscape Architect. His talent for design will enthrall you with color and use of space that delights the eye at every turn.
Another garden will delight your senses as it was designed to attract bees and butterflies. You can’t help but lose yourself in the beauty of this nature haven. Just be sure and leave yourself plenty of time here because there are 12 acres to explore!
The Rockwall County Discovery Garden will also be featured. This will be its first public tour since the Alice and Wonderland Children’s Garden opened last spring. All three of these gardens will have Master Gardeners on hand to direct you and answer questions. It is an “at your leisure” tour, but make sure you leave enough time to tour all three gardens before they close at 1:30 and the classroom portion begins.
Listen and Learn!
The next stop on the garden tour takes you to the Rockwall County Library from 2:00 —3:30 pm. Dr. Dotty Woodson, Extension Water Resource Specialist and National Speaker will discuss with tour patrons recommended plant materials and irrigation strategies to take tour inspirations from a dream to a success!
Many of you will recognize Dr. Woodson from her spots on NBC 5—Today. She specializes in landscape water conservation, rainwater harvesting, rain gardens and irrigation efficiency. As fellow gardeners, we want you to know that it is possible to have a landscape that is beautiful AND water conscious.
