Hosted by Bruce and Lorna Foith, along with Don Garner, the event included a specialty kite demonstration by Garner, and welcomed special guest Nell Welborn of the Rockwall County Open Space Alliance.
“We had so much fun last year at our Family Kite Fly-In that we did it again this year!” wrote Donna Dorman with Friends of Raymond Cameron Lake Park. “We had an interesting conversation with Nell about land use, and she shared that in the past, houses would have been built right through the field where we were flying kites. Kuddos to the City and County of Rockwall for planning open space and parks into our housing developments! It allows residents to like us to have pleasant and fun days reminiscent of days past.”
