Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony, Concert

(ROCKWALL, TX – May 12, 2015) Back by popular demand, The Levee Singers will perform again at Rest Haven’s Annual Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony, Concert and Family Day beginning at 10 a.m. Monday, May 25.  This year, for the first time, The Reveille Sisters will also perform under the big tent at Rest Haven Memorial Park’s Celebration Field in Rockwall.

The Reveille Sisters are entertainers who have a unique harmony that is reminiscent of the Andrews Sisters. The three friends, Amy Morton, Kathy Lawson, and Anna Marie Warren have been singing together for 13 years.

Favorites on the local music scene, the Levee Singers achieved national recognition in the 1960s as headliners at the Dallas Levee Club. Over the years, they have developed a wide range of music including western swing, folk, country and western, rock-a-billy, and even Broadway medleys.  Regulars at the Pocket Sandwich Theater in Dallas, the Levee Singers continue to pack a full house of loyal fans every time they perform.

After the concert, Rest Haven’s staff will be serving up hot dogs on the grill, ice cream, contests and games for the kids, all free of charge.  Fishing enthusiasts of all ages are invited to bring their fishing poles and tackle to enjoy catch-and-release fishing at the well-stocked pond.  The American Red Cross Blood Mobile will be present at the event, and donors can register at www.redcrossblood.org using sponsor keyword: resthaven.

This free, family event is open to the entire community and is hosted by Rest Haven Funeral Homes, Rest Haven Memorial Park, The Flower Box and Pet Memories.  Seating will be available, but lawn chairs are welcome and encouraged.

Rest Haven Memorial Park is located at 2500 State Highway 66 East, in Rockwall, TX.  For more information please contact Sharon Satterwhite at 972-771-8641, or visit the Facebook page at fb/RestHavenFuneralHomeAndMemorialPark.
