(ROCKWALL, TX – May 8, 2015) The Rockwall Art League is cooperating with the American Society of Marine Artists to promote their annual Young Marine Artists Search in the North Texas region. The competition is open to artists ages 16 to 23 and is designed to encourage young artists to explore marine subjects in their work. The deadline for entry is July 1, 2015.

In 2014 Rockwall High School junior Michael Bonfante won $500 for his sculpture. Then Michael received honorable mention in the American Society of Marine Artists National YMAS contest.
This year, prizes in our area are $500, $250, $100. Annie Foster at Rockwall High School has helped make the contest work. Entries also coming from Galveston Schools where the same YMAS awards are offered through the Galveston Art League.
