(ROCKWALL, TX – June 30, 2015) Hundreds of locals flocked to the grounds of Lakeshore Church on Sunday, June 28 to kick off the celebration of American independence – and raise money for the church’s mission trips to boot – during the 13th Annual Freedom Fest fireworks event on the church grounds.
The event featured tons of exciting games, raffles and delicious food for all to enjoy. Kids of all ages had a blast as they braved the 65-foot water slide, caught some serious air on the Euro Bungees and got involved in some competitive fun with games like Gaga Ball or some good ole fashioned sand volleyball.
A petting zoo, pony rides, kiddie swings, a rock climbing wall, The Eliminator Wipeout Challenge and Pirates Revenge Ship Ride were also on hand to keep the smiles on the kiddos’ faces and their little hearts content.
Fundraising activities included Human Foosball benefitting the Nicaragua Mission Team, the Flyboard Raffle benefitting the Kenya Mission Team, and a car raffle benefitting the Junior Bible Quiz Team – a ministry of Lakeshore kids. Children could also get their faces painted as well as some souvenir balloon art, all benefitting the Port Arthur Mission Team.
A dazzling fireworks show rounded out all of the day’s excitement and festivities.
Lakeshore Church has held Freedom Fest annually for the past 13 years. The church is located at 5575 South Highway 205 in Rockwall. For information regarding its mission trips or for general info, visit its website at lakeshorechurch.net or call the church at 972-771-1942.
