Rockwall Water Polo Player to be First to Play in Hungary

ROCKWALL, TX  (June 23, 2015) Since Jordan Hummingbird started playing water polo back in 5th grade, her career has been all about firsts. The first year the Rockwall Tridents came into existence, the 6th grade and under team (with Jordan) went all the way to the state finals before losing their first game ever to the Houston Storm for the title. Fast forward two years and the 8th grade and under Tridents win the state title defeating the Houston Storm for a first state championship banner. Ms. Hummingbird was also on the first Rockwall High School Lady Jackets water polo team to make it to the state tournament. They made the TISCA State Water Polo Championships in 2014 and 2015 finishing 9th and 7th respectively.

Jordan also carries these firsts in water polo as well:

  • First Rockwall Water Polo player selected to the USA Water Polo National Team Selection Camp in 2011. She liked it so much, she was selected again in 2012.
  • First Texas water polo player on the roster for Azusa Pacific University Cougars.

Now Jordan wants to add another first to this list; she wants to be the first Rockwall Water Polo athlete to play in Hungary. Azusa Pacific University coach Julie Snodgrass announced the Lady Cougars will be traveling to Hungary from January 6th to 16th, 2016. In order to make the trip, the athletes have been asked to raise $2,600 each to cover cost.
