(ROCKWALL, TX – June 2, 2015) Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Rockwall teamed together with Walgreens, the JER Chilton YMCA of Rockwall, Rockwall County EMS, and the Rockwall police and fire departments to inform residents how to keep healthy and stay safe during the Health & Safety Fair at the Texas Health hospital’s main campus on Saturday.
The family-friendly event featured several entertaining and informative booths full of games, educational demonstrations, and lots of free goodies for adults and kids alike.
Guests could visit the Texas Health hospital’s stroke awareness booth to learn F.A.S.T. – that is, the signs of an oncoming stroke and what to do. F.A.S.T. stands for facial drooping, arm weakness, slurred speech, time to call 911!
Visitors were also treated to a CPR and Heimlich maneuver demonstration, as well as given the opportunity to have their blood pressure taken from the enthusiastic and experienced hospital staff on hand.
Balloons, a popcorn machine, and fresh hot dogs rounded out a truly enlightening and exciting event for all in attendance at the fair.
