HEATH, TX. (July 2, 2015) The Fulton School of Heath, a co-educational, independent, college preparatory school serving students in PreK through 12th grade, is pleased to welcome two new faculty members, and announce the promotion of another.
Jessica Sheppard
Jessica Sheppard is joining The Fulton School this fall to teach third grade. This will be her 12th year teaching. She comes with a Bachelor of Science from A&M in Interdisciplinary Studies. Additionally, she has a Master of Education from A&M-Commerce in Elementary Education.
“I think what makes me unique is that I try to teach skills and strategies that the kids will be able to carry with them throughout their lives. I try to make things very relevant and real-world,” stated Jessica. She is looking forward to building relationships with the students and their families.
Barbara Melillo
Barbara Melillo will be joining the Upper School staff at the start of the 2015-2016 school year. She has been teaching math and computer science for 43 years at a variety of schools. She has taught at Colorado State University, Norton Community High School in Kansas, and here in Texas at Princeton High School and most recently at Forney High School for the past 16 years, among others. In 1986 and 1987, she was one of 60 recipients nationwide to receive a 2 year National Science Foundation Grant on using computer programming to teach high school math at the University of California Santa Barbara. She is married to Neil Melillo, Fulton English teacher, and they have 3 children and 3 grandchildren. She is excited to be able to be in the classroom with the students she’s met at Fulton over the past year, and looks forward to the new school year at Fulton.
Johnathon Bryant
The Fulton School announces that Coach Johnathan Bryant has become the new Athletic Director and Assistant Head of School for the 2015-2016 school year. He is entering his second year with The Fulton School and brings with him a wealth of experience; he earned a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences from the University of Texas at Tyler, has 6 years of head baseball coaching experience, was drafted by the San Diego Padres, and played for the Calgary Vipers, Schaumburg Flyers, and Anderson Joes.
Coach Bryant is a firm believer in working hard and doing things the right way. Last year Coach Bryant came to us to further develop our Baseball and Physical Education programs. He worked daily building relationships with all of our students from Pre-K through seniors within our athletics programs and also filled in as a substitute teacher when needed. Coach Bryant and his wife Shanna have a four year old daughter (Charleigh) and a ten month old son (Ace). They currently reside in Fate, Texas and their daughter will be attending The Fulton School in the fall.
“When I decided to come to The Fulton School last year I never imagined the opportunity that I would have in impacting such a wide range of students. The ability to work with the lower school students as well as the upper school students has been very satisfying as every day brings on different challenges. I hope to help grow the school, mentor students and guide them to becoming the best individual they can be. The children have been amazing, the parents have been supportive and the teachers and staff of The Fulton School have made it a pleasure to come to work.”
