(ROCKWALL COUNTY, TX – July 30, 2015) Lone Star CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) is in need of more volunteers to serve the foster children of Rockwall County and Kaufman County.
You don’t have to be a lawyer or social worker to be a volunteer. Volunteers come from all cultures, professions, and educational backgrounds. CASA volunteers are appointed by a judge to discover the best possible outcome for abused or neglected children in foster care. It is the goal of the CASA volunteer that every one of these children is in a safe, permanent home in a timely manner.
The next Lone Star CASA volunteer training session is scheduled to begin in October and three information sessions have been scheduled in August for purposes of providing information to individuals exploring the prospects of helping these vulnerable children.
The information sessions will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday, August 17 at the Kaufman CASA office (new location) at Wells Fargo Bank, 2100 S. Washington, Kaufman, TX 75142; 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 18 at the Rockwall CASA office at 108 Kenway, Rockwall, TX 75087; and 6:30 p.m. Thursday, August 20 at First Presbyterian Church, 12433 FM 1641, Forney, TX 75126.
