(ROCKWALL, TX – August 10, 2015) The City of Rockwall is now accepting applications for students who wish to be considered for the 2015-2016 Rockwall Youth Advisory Council (YAC). The City Council will be filling just two vacancies, positions which became open due to recently graduating high school seniors. Applicants must be freshmen through seniors who reside within the city limits of the City of Rockwall.
The purpose of the Rockwall YAC is to provide participation by local youth in municipal government and to teach students about local government. The YAC takes initiatives directed toward effective change that benefits local youth and provides positive community impact through organized participation in various city sponsored activities and events.
For more information about the program and to submit an application online, visit rockwall.com/youthcouncil.asp.

Interviews will be scheduled during the week of August 31, with appointment selections most likely being made by the Rockwall City Council at its Tuesday, September 8 meeting. Questions and letters of recommendation may be directed to Kristy Cole, City Secretary by e-mail or by calling (972) 772-6406.
